Toggleable setting for new "Private Room" display in friends list
BillehBawb
In a recent update it was changed so that if you are in a private room it displays in your friends list as "Private Room" instead of the room name. This would be a good feature, if it were toggleable. But having it forced on when in any room is a big hassle. Now you can't know if your friends are in a room you dont want to go to or if its a project youre working on and you want to request an invite. There needs to be a room setting for turning this feature on and off. It would also be cool if there was a way to make it so that only favorite friends could see what room you were in.

Maybe you can see it if you are a co-owner or mod of the room??

Pretty sure this only applies to unpublished rooms. If you're in a private instance of a published room then it should show up like normal. I could be wrong though.

Bob Bobby: yeah but it still sucks for unpublished rooms

100%.

This update defeats the entire purpose of request an invite lol

I also would like to add on to the post that if it can't be added as a toggle, then I think most people would like it removed. I would rather have this change just reverted in a patch asap than wait 3 months for a toggle to be added to the room settings

This, I Don’t want to bug my friends and clog their inbox with “you busy?” Because I can’t see they are working in ^SussybakaumblyishRobloxFortniteCube or if they are working on ^seriousprojectleavemealone
Just allow us to toggle it manually instead of forcing us to follow a very narrow minded mindset of privacy

a status under your name could be cool like dev mode on roblox so ppl know when u work on stuff but not just "private room" . Its very confusing and idk if my friends r working on something or if they r just chillin

It's very annoying not knowing what room your friends are in. It could be an important room that you know you can't request to join or they might just be building things.
