Hand / Finger tracking? :O

imagine being able to use the index controllers or the buttons on the Oculus Touch controllers to make a thumbs up or point at somebody :D without having to click a certain button then clicking it again to unpoint. It would make the experience more seemless.

I think it would be awesome for Rec Room to support Oculus' hand tracking (no controllers) i understand it may take awhile and be a little challenging but i'm sure all Oculus users would enjoy this.

Can you some how use finger tracking for the index controllers. I don't know how I feel about the game without it. I really love rec but I want to get some more use out of finger tracking.

It seems simple enough to implement. All that would be required is two fingers for pointing and thumbs up.

Oculus haven't really though handtracking through. It loses you the haptic feedback from the controllers, and is therefore not suitable as a general controller replacement. Its like nerve damage where you lost your proprioception and have to keep looking at your hands the whole time to check they are doing what you think they are doing.

You don't really think about how often that slight buzz to indicate that you grabbed something / hit something / etc adds to the immersion of games, but you WILL miss it if it isn't there.

The Viper: You could argue the same thing about the face tracking for iPhones. There’s nothing wrong with niche if there’s an audience for it.
