Oculus haven't really though handtracking through. It loses you the haptic feedback from the controllers, and is therefore not suitable as a general controller replacement. Its like nerve damage where you lost your proprioception and have to keep looking at your hands the whole time to check they are doing what you think they are doing.
You don't really think about how often that slight buzz to indicate that you grabbed something / hit something / etc adds to the immersion of games, but you WILL miss it if it isn't there.

The Viper: You could argue the same thing about the face tracking for iPhones. There’s nothing wrong with niche if there’s an audience for it.
