Blocking/room banning multiple accounts of one user
Lupus Tempestas
On instagram, when you block someone, it asks you if you want to block all other created accounts of that same user.
I belive that this feature would be extremely useful in the following use cases:
- While moderating a room, it's pretty common to roomban players. If we could roomban all alternate accounts of the same user, it would prevent them from creating new accounts and evade their roomban.
- Sometimes blocking a user doesn't prevent them from creating another account and coming back to harass players. Here again being able to block all alternate accounts would be useful.
Their is a way to block access to players beneath a certain level but this doesn't fix the issue. It temporarly delays it until they reach the required level.

Basically the ability to IP ban players is what would be incredibly useful.

That’s a silly waste of time idea
Telly Kojak
That’s rubbish …several people may share those accounts
Lupus Tempestas
Telly Kojak: Well according to the CoC, you're not supposed to share your account with another person. You're supposed to have one person per account. Also please do elaborate why it's "rubbish"? This idea would prevent exactly what I explained in the post. How is that not useful?
Telly Kojak
Lupus Tempestas: because in real life people will find a work around..wasted energy ..you know ..better used in improving platforms in game

Telly Kojak: Not really if you implement an ip ban to it as well, you would need a new steam account, and a vpn to get a new RR account that would be unbanned, now if you also include hardware ids then your donezo unless you have a hardware spoofer but very few people would know how and take the time to do so.

Sort of like how the new Instagram blocking system works?
Lupus Tempestas
Sumo: Yes this is what I was referring to!

People will find ways to get around that detection, and you can easily dispute associated account bans anyway. I am unsure of the effectiveness of this. If it works though, great.
