We think we have a plan to satisfy this request. Let us know if you disagree.
In the short term we are going to add the Circuits V2 chips to the existing search menu. Barring unexpected chaos, we can deliver that near the beginning of next month.
After that we are improving the search menu with a searchable list of filters down the right side of the UI. The filters will also have up and down buttons so you can get to them off screen.
There will be top level filters like “Shapes”, “Inventions”, “Gadgets”, “CircuitsV2”, etc. When you click a filter your search will only show content from that part of the palette. Filters will also get more specific as you navigate into them. For example if you click “Gadgets” the remaining filters will change to “Gizmos”, “Game Chips”, “Other Chips”, etc.
If our plan holds steady we’d like to try to deliver the improved search experience some time next month. We hope that this change satisfies this request directly and improves search in the palette overall.

Let us filter by tags too, so tags are currently the buttons beside the palette, but they should include: search by input type, search by input name, etc.
To filter by a tag, just search it in the palette, click it, and only chips with that tag will show up
For example, the Show notification will have the tags: #String, #Exec, etc

How would we like this to work? Would it be acceptable for this to be similar to palette search? Are there other improvements you would also like to see?

Tyler Wolf Leonhardt: i would like the cv2 to have images when I search. My English is not my main language so sometimes I see the chip name and don't understand what it is. I would like to see a visual representation of the chips are. Seeing the input and outputs and not having to read the name would be very useful

Tyler Wolf Leonhardt: Definitely NOT like the palette search. That search is very naive and really needs to be improved. If I type "pl...", I get every possible item that has the letter P or L in it, even though it should really just be showing me items that have both in it, like PLate, or PLant, but instead, we get pot, post, lamp, light, anything that has either letters, including colors and textures (?!). Its extremely unhelpful. It needs to map to known entities. If we get that kind of search, then that would be really helpful for CV2.
