Enable controller hardware buttons to send circuit signal
closed
Senketz Gaming
is short my idea is for a handheld item which can be used to trigger gizmos and gadgets. the reason i want an item like this in the game is simply for its uses in rooms similar to that of the magicae academy where it has special abilities for you to use. as having a handheld item to trigger them instead of trigger zones both makes it less likely to trigger things by accident and also using the different connection tabs makes it easier to activate certain features like something that you need to hold a button down like a magic barrier or something that requires a quick button press like a fire blast.
it can also be useful for people wanting to make short films who need to have some sort of trigger for special effects or if you're making a heist game and you need a trigger device for a bomb. [same can be said for some pvp games]
anyway i feel i typed a bit to much for a simple idea but i feel it could be really useful and have a lot of possibilities.

The Trigger Gizmo!

I would love to see a new creator gizmo, the Trigger Gizmo! It would work like a clamp, such as being able to put the item you grab on the bottom part, and decorative parts on the top piece, but when you push your trigger button, it could release a signal output! This would work great as a creator tool by making remotes, controllers, and even custom weapons and guns! I can see tons of potential if this idea ever becomes in-game, and it would offer a really fun and useful tool for all creators!

This post has been re-created in the "Circuits V2 Feedback" category as part of a community polling effort during the CV2 open beta. This original request is closed for now, but you can find the new version at this link:

Detonators!

It's an activator gadget. A lot of times, people will connect inventions to guns just so that they can be holstered properly. The drawback of this is that people will have to attach buttons to the side of the invention, which can accidentally collide with it and activate it. I suggest that it look like one of those RC car controllers, and when you pull the trigger, it will send a signal output to whatever it's wired to. That way, you don't have to attach cosmetic weapons to real guns and it would look less awkward when being held. Please, make my life easier!

This feature would be great for skipping past boring dialog or dialog you've already heard/read in a game.

You could add a block which is found in the maker pen and you can pick up and holster Like a gun but have output pins such as when trigger is pressed, when shaken and when upside down so people can use it to make some cool custom pet/gun and some completely different game mechanics.

Add a grabbable trigger item

The idea is that the item would act as a weapon or gun in the sense that pulling the trigger would do something. For this item, pulling the trigger would send a signal whenever the trigger is pulled. It could work a bit like a button, where you can either send a pulse when the trigger is fired, or send a constant signal for as long as the trigger is held down.

Handheld Toggle Button
Michael Hattersley
Basically the existing toggle button, 2 possible values (1 and 0), but in handheld form. Similar to how guns, swords, shields and other weapons work with sticking to your hand until you push a button and let go, it works just like the toggle button, with every time you press the button, it alternates the output. This feature would make it easy to make flashlights, remotes, and anything else that may have needed a toggle button attached to make it work. For example, I made a flashlight with a clamp, a spotlight and a maker pen object. It could be turned on and off by hitting a toggle button on top. There were some issues with it though. The object floated in the air, and the button would randomly toggle when it moved. If this handheld version is added, it would allow us to make cheaper, more effective inventions. It should also be able to connect to objects, like a gizmo, and could possibly have options to decide whether or not it is affected by gravity. Please consider this idea. My programming knowhow might not be as great as yours, but I feel it wouldn't be too hard to put the functionality of a toggle button onto an object that sticks to your hand much like a weapon. This could also be used to make a sort of handle for a custom weapon, allowing it to fall and still only be picked up from a certain point. And it sticks to your hand.

This would replace the need for having extra items, such as plates or toggle buttons, in front of a weapon to send a signal (which can be frustrating when clamped items don't stay where they're meant to whilst moving)
