Holotar updates
HB L.
It would be nice if Holotars got a quality of life update. I’d like the ability to disable the yellow spotlight, disable the humming background noise, disable visibility of the actual projector box so we don’t have to hide all our projectors under the floor, and an easier way to get the size of the holotars to be “1 to 1” with our player models. You can scale them but you’re just eyeballing it and it’s actually pretty hard to get it right.

Holotar Update

Holotar really is outdated and need some updates. Here is what I want updated to the holotar.
Configuring it shows a few sliders. First slider is for holotar recording settings. You can record (normal) or take a picture! Taking a picture will take a still frame of you! There is a Time slider, where you change the time until it starts. you can change it from 0 second, 3 second, 5 seconds, and 10 seconds for the slider. Default for 5 seconds. The last slider will be the Effect slider. The effect slider will select the effects for the holotar. The first effect is no effect. No lights, just your body. The second effect is the default Light effect. The last effect is the effect your watch, NavMesh boxes, and other has. It will not have any lights to it, just that effect. Maybe you can merge them with checks so you can have the transparent lines and light together. Thats all for what I have I can make up. Thank you for reading.

Agree, I want to make a world that is ran by holograms of me hehe :)

Remember the holohelpers and the green outline for them? That should be on holotars, but you can disable it.

Add “playback complete” pins to holotars, samplers, and any new output devices

Adding a “playback complete” pin (pulse output) to holotars, samplers, and other output devices would allow us to chain them together for continuous back-to-back playback without requiring lots of messy delay chips, among other uses

Some of the suggestions overlap in the merges but not all- Merging most into a "mega-thread" for general holotar QOL updates and suggestions.

Holotars: Ability to Record Actual Position
Jeff07734
I wanted to create a narrative custom room, but holotars are way too hard to position right. We should get a mode where it records our exact position so acting can be easy. EDIT: What I mean is that holotars should be able to record where we actually are in the world instead of mirroring it.

More Playback Options for Holotars

If holotar recordings could include objects that are held in the avatar's hands, they could be used for animating these objects like hand-held puppets. To this end, a couple of improvements would be useful:
1) Optionally remove the avatar and only show the objects that are held in the avatar's hands.
2) Optionally remove the light beam.
3) Optionally disable the sound effects of the holotar projector.
4) Optionally make the holotar projector invisible.
5) Allow to scale the holotar and any included objects (because it would be useful to scale the movements: to animate Godzilla you could animate a puppet-sized version of Godzilla and then scale everything)

Holotar option to "mirror" projection
AfewGoodTacos
Its really difficult to act out something using the holotar because its a mirror image of you. It would be nice if we could "mirror" the recorded holotar.
Note: I'm imaging a mirror option would mirror the animation data, and not the appearance of the holotar (eg. if I clicked "mirror", I would see the mirror image of my holotar's animation, but a decal or texture on a shirt would not be flipped)

Aha good try so that you make it look like you have a player in your room when you don't hmm
