We are currently writing design docs for authority related tools. We think these will solve many of the problems that a Set Authority chip would solve. Once the new tools are delivered we will reconsider shipping the chip if the community needs still aren't met.

well room authority is a very important role in the code so it should have some kind of warning so new players don't misuse it

Boss-of-snow-13: room authority already changes when the authority leaves or a game starts/ends when some non-authority has faster internet.

I don’t see how that could be a problem, set object authority is more important tho

This is a great idea - I came to canny to make a request and found it was already on the top page, so clearly I'm not the only one who desperately needs it
