First off, longer record times would be phenomenal. Second, an interface similar to the anim. gizmo's for making simple edits to said audio would be even better
Edit: When I say simple edits, I mean cutting out certain parts and replacing them, shifting existing clips, etc.
(Now that I think about it, this might be too much)

You can double, or even triple, the recording speed then play back at 50% and 33% speeds ... I have done the double speed with no noticable deterioration in the audio, haven't tried x3 yet.
