Custom expresso messages above your head
complete
Jessica <3
Everyone should be able to type a message and have it display above their head and even give a small sound effect to indicate they said something so you can look in their direction.
There are many players in Rec Room who are mute, have severe social anxiety, or perhaps don't like their voice because it doesn't match their presenting gender or any other number of reason to not speak aloud and they are being ostracized.
There's no reason not to add this because people who would be vulgar with it can already be vulgar with their voice and the feature would obviously be disabled for Jr accounts.

There is a couple people cant speak in real life. So making friends isnt always so easy. believe all players with any conditions should be able to have another fourm of communication. Also would be fine with word filters * watch this below and you can see why im fighting for this issue https://youtu.be/FcWmdUo3GCM

Since the introduction of screen mode and having this option I don't see why it shouldn't be in VR mode. There are plenty of people that don't want to talk but would be able to express their self better than through the current expresso options.

Given that Screen mode now allows users to type messages to be shown above their heads this seems even more sensible to add to the VR Expresso Menu.

I know and have seen many people that cannot or are not comfortable with speaking and unless the person adds everyone they meet, they have very limited methods of communication. The majority of the time, the person has to have a friend with them to communicate across messages to everyone else and this may not always be possible for people.
I for one am rather socially anxious when on my own around people I'm not familiar with and so I tend to not speak and it is difficult if not impossible to get something across to them.
In terms of it being abused, yes, people will probably do so but everyone always attempts to abuse a feature. People abuse their microphone but that does not mean everyone else should be stopped from using it, and besides having this would make it easier to know who would be saying hurtful things as it would sit above their head and then we can point at the person and report them.
I do hope that this gets added as it will allow people to have their own voice somewhat and not need someone else's to play, it is a social game after all and communicating with people is a vital aspect of this game.

Seems reasonable to me.
The existing systems such as names and profile pics get abused for vulgarity a bit, but the community is pretty good at reporting that kind of behaviour, so I don't see that this would really be any worse.
Along with the ability to type out a message to display up there, it might be good to have a way of setting up custom expresso messages and saving them for easy access. That'd save people from having to type out the same basic responses over and over again when they're things like Yes, No, Hello, Goodbye, etc.
