2FA for rec.net access is complete (See here: https://recroom.canny.io/recnet/p/2fa-on-recnet) but we're also working on implementing it for general game access. Thank you all for bearing with us as we work to implement it. We still implore those who want to further secure their accounts to enable 2FA via rec.net in the meantime.
Edited post title to specify 2FA for "in-game".

2 Step Verification
Ronan_KingCloud
Possible plans for a 2-step verification process to be added:
Something like, you set your phone number as your verification and you will be texted a six digit code (examples: 629082 or with letters too 82hd4o)
It could make you verify whenever your on a new device.
I feel this is more important than ever. Tokens can be exchanged for real world currency, So protecting this should be a high requirement, because now, a simple hack could ruin a players possible source of income.
Example:
Gets on RecRoom on a new (device name here)
Enters username and password
Clicks "log in"
"2-Step Verification, Please enter the 6 digit code sent to your phone"
"_ _ _ _ _ _"
Phone number gets a text with a random code
"Here is your log in code for your RecRoom account on (insert device type here): 2gh72t"
Types code
(If the code is correct, then you can log into the account and you are able to log in from that device like normal now)
(If the code is not correct, get 3 tries to try again, If you fail all three, you cant log in on that device for a few minutes or more)

2 Factor Authentication
Frank_
For a game as big as Rec Room, I find it completely unacceptable that there is still no 2FA, there are builders, making thousands of dollars, but they have barely any options to secure their accounts, besides a password. Along with the choice of email or text, it absolutely needs support for Google Authenticator, as it is one of the most secure options for 2FA.

2FA, in particular TOTP (Time-based One-time Password Algorithm), is an industry standard for account security. Google, Blizzard, Steam, Discord, Facebook, Microsoft, Trello... The list goes on. With one exception in the previous list (Steam Guard), it is possible to use a TOTP application such as Google Authenticator or Authy for account security. I feel using a TOTP system would significantly improve account security, both in-game and on Rec.net.

We still need this, it was mentioned in a recent AMA, Hopefully its soon
